I love educational blogs. They are the main topic of what I follow on Twitter. They allow for me to gain ideas and to sometimes relax in the comfort that other educators feel the same stresses that I do. Two of the blogs I enjoy most are spoken about below.
Education Technology Blog:
One of the educational technology blogs that I prefer to follow is: http://theinnovativeeducator.blogspot.com/
The writer of this blog, Lisa Nielsen, is awesome. She's very teacher friendly and she highlights varied topics, in regards to educational technology. She gives reviews about new updates, such as the new Google Add-ons, and she even produces surveys for other teachers to fill out. She also talks about the different types of technology that can be used in the classroom, such as Remind101, which we had discussed last week. I find that her writing is very honest. She's not afraid to give her opinion about an educational tool. However, while honest, she is also open minded and explores the concept that while something may not work for her, she discusses for whom she believe it will be most effective. She's awesome!
Language Arts Blog:
Ok, don't laugh, but one of the Language Arts blogs that I follow is Cool Cat Teacher Blog by Vikki Davis. Yes, I was originally attracted to her blog because of the title, but once I started reading, I enjoyed her postings, especially in regards to the Common Core. If you are teaching towards the new common core, Vikki includes a lot of resources in her blog, such as writing units, flashcards, and also how to incorporate technology in the English classroom, according to a 21st Century student. Her blogs are easy to use and easy to navigate. I really like that she includes links to other blogs and resources, as well!
